Position Overview

We are currently looking for a dedicated Electronic Component Assembler (2nd Shift). In this position, you will be tasked with the assembly of electronic parts, subassemblies, and systems, as well as testing the functionality of these assemblies using various testing equipment and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret shop orders, adhere to production work instructions, and follow sample assemblies while receiving verbal guidance on tasks to be completed.
  • Accurately position and align components in accordance with specified relationships using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices, employing hand or power tools.
  • Operate machinery or utilize hand tools and power tools to secure parts through crimping, staking, bolting, riveting, welding, soldering, cementing, pressing, or similar operations, while also performing routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Install assembled components, including transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets onto chassis, panels, or printed circuit boards.
  • Connect component lead wires to printed circuits or routes, and link wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points using soldering, welding, thermocompression, or related bonding techniques.
  • Integrate finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases and cabinets.
  • Assemble and attach both functional and aesthetic hardware, such as caps, clamps, and knobs, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Conduct intermediate assembly tasks including potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  • Operate machines that press or shape component parts and perform operator-level preventive maintenance on these machines.
  • Manage automatic assembly equipment that joins components and parts, while also performing operator-level preventive maintenance.
  • Utilize standard testing equipment to carry out functional, operational, environmental, and life tests on products.
  • Connect units to testing instruments, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, resistance bridges, or oscilloscopes, and interpret the readings.
  • Evaluate instrument readings against standards, identifying defects such as shorts or current leaks, and document any discrepancies while performing operator-level preventive maintenance on testing equipment as per GMP requirements.
  • Alert management to any conditions that are undesirable or nonconforming to product specifications, as well as any procedures that cannot be executed as documented.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper labeling of incoming materials, clearing unnecessary items regularly, and keeping the work center orderly at the end of the shift.
  • Exhibit a high degree of dexterity and hand-eye coordination for the manipulation of buttons, switches, hand tools, and knobs on delicate equipment, products, and parts.
  • Demonstrate the ability to bend, twist, and lift/move up to 30 pounds using safe lifting techniques, while standing for extended periods and walking throughout the facility.
  • Ability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist, and utilize hand dexterity for up to 10 hours.
  • Associates operating machinery must possess mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of dexterity and hand-eye coordination for the effective performance of essential functions.
  • Ability to bend, twist, and lift up to 30 pounds while employing safe lifting techniques, standing for long durations, and walking throughout the facility.
  • Capability to sit, stand, look down, bend, twist, and exhibit hand dexterity for up to 10 hours.
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are essential for associates operating machinery.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in assembly.
  • Certification in soldering is desirable.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting with techniques for installing Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-hole Technology (THT) components.
  • Familiarity with IPC-610, Acceptance of Electronic Assemblies, and workmanship standards.
