This full-time role involves a variety of responsibilities including in-house operations and event setup, ensuring optimal functionality of equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including loading and unloading equipment based on event specifications.
  • Interpret technical layouts and dimensions for effective room configurations and client requirements.
  • Organize meeting spaces according to provided schematics and additional guidelines.
  • Oversee the inventory of essential materials and supplies for daily operations.
  • Support the annual inventory process.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces, storage areas, and service paths.
  • Report maintenance and cleanliness issues within the facility.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained for safe and reliable operation.
  • Complete necessary training to stay informed about job responsibilities, regulations, and safety practices.
  • Operate various equipment including forklifts, utility carts, and pallet jacks.
  • Return all equipment to designated storage areas in proper working condition.
  • Follow sustainability and safety standards set by the organization.
  • Engage with clients and customers in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • N/A
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in event setup, banquet services, or material handling.
  • Willingness to join the local union after the probationary period.
  • Experience in event operations is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
  • Preferred experience in safe operation of mechanized equipment.
  • Prior certification on powered equipment is a plus, with the ability to obtain future certifications as required.
Skills for Success:

Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for instructing others and providing information clearly.

Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires frequent physical activity including walking, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy items regularly.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment with good coordination and reflexes.
Work Environment:
  • The role encompasses both in-house and event-related tasks.
  • Work may be conducted indoors and outdoors, subject to weather conditions.
  • Noise levels may vary based on tasks and events.
  • Exposure to various physical conditions, including moving vehicles and equipment.
  • A flexible schedule is necessary, adapting to the needs of events.
