Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Operating Engineer to join our team at JLL. As an Operating Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our facility's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and maintain facility equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC and fire suppression systems.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing to identify and address potential safety hazards and equipment malfunctions.
  • Collaborate with the facility management team to develop and implement maintenance schedules and budgets.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or safety incidents, and take appropriate action to minimize downtime and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of building systems, including thermodynamic, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as computer-controlled equipment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of two years of college or related trade schooling preferred.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in electrician trade or related field, or minimum of four years' experience in HVAC/refrigeration trade or related field.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform all work using proper personnel protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety policies, procedures, and practices.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead, including:

  • Walking large, campus-like settings.
  • Lifting a minimum of 80 lbs.
  • Climbing stairs and navigating rooftops to access equipment.
  • Using ladders up to 30 ft and working from heights.
