Purpose: Petco Total Care is seeking a highly skilled Veterinarian to join our team as a Hospital Medical Leader. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and client experience, driving continuous improvement in clinical skills, and cultivating a supportive, respectful, and collaborative work culture where all people feel welcome.

As a Hospital Medical Leader, you will review hospital P&L and partner with medical and operations field leaders to drive hospital performance, efficiency, and exceptional care quality. You will grow as a practitioner and a leader with paid continued education and leadership training, utilizing your experience and skills to make autonomous decisions and continue learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review hospital financials and develop strategies to improve performance
  2. Partner with medical and operations field leaders to drive hospital growth and excellence
  3. Foster a culture of respect, empathy, and teamwork among veterinary staff
  4. Stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices through continuing education and training

Requirements:

  • DVM degree from an accredited institution
  • Current licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the state of employment
  • 2+ years of experience in veterinary practice, preferably in a leadership role
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities
