General Overview of Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY
This role involves technical and administrative tasks related to the evaluation of permit applications, issuance of permits, and collection of associated fees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. **Permit Intake Management:** Oversee the intake of various permit applications, ensuring they are complete and compliant with relevant regulations. Provide initial guidance to homeowners and contractors regarding the permitting process.
2. **Review Process:** Assess building and environmental applications, including flood letters and soil tests, to ensure all necessary documentation is submitted according to established guidelines.
3. **Fee Calculation and Collection:** Accurately calculate and collect fees associated with permit applications, maintaining thorough records of all transactions.
4. **Permit Issuance:** Compile and verify all necessary documentation for permit packages, entering required data into the electronic tracking system.
5. **Customer Interaction:** Address inquiries from the public and contractors regarding the permitting process, providing clear and accurate information.
6. **File Management:** Maintain organized files for all permit applications and related documents, ensuring easy access and retrieval.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Perform related tasks as needed, including providing backup support for inspection services and assisting with customer service inquiries.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is primarily office-based, requiring occasional movement and the ability to handle various office equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS
