About the Role
The Licensed Animal Care Technician plays a crucial role in our veterinary practice, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to our animal patients. This position involves:
- Assisting veterinarians in the examination, treatment, and monitoring of animals.
- Administering prescribed medications, vaccines, and treatments.
- Monitoring vital signs and collecting samples for laboratory testing.
- Preparing surgical areas and assisting during surgical procedures.
- Educating pet owners on wellness plans, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Maintaining accurate medical records for all patients.
- Ensuring the proper functioning of medical equipment.
- Managing inventory and supplies within the clinic.
- Contributing to the overall efficiency of the practice.
- Performing select reception duties as needed.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree is a plus.
- A valid certification, registration, or licensing (CVT, RVT, or LVT).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting.
Skills Required
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Up-to-date knowledge of veterinary practices.
