Position Overview:

The Companion Animal Operations Supervisor is responsible for:

  • Overseeing and ensuring the efficient operation of the Companion Animal Department, driving sales for aquatic pets, reptiles, birds, and small companion animals.
  • Coaching and mentoring all Pet Care Center partners to enhance the guest experience and animal care.
  • Training, developing, and leading a high-performing team to meet budgeted sales goals, gross margin targets, and minimize animal and merchandise shrink.

This role also involves managing all aspects of the Pet Care Center's operations in alignment with Petco's standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

To excel in this position, candidates must effectively perform the following essential duties:

  • Utilize business acumen to analyze trends and implement improvement plans.
  • Ensure the health and well-being of live animals by adhering to established care standards, including conducting hourly health checks.
  • Process transactions efficiently to enhance the guest experience.
  • Implement and execute Companion Animal Operations and Aquatics training, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Manage inventory effectively to maximize sales and margin.
  • Maintain high presentation standards in all animal care areas.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Leader to ensure proper merchandise levels are maintained.
