Job Summary

The Estimator role is a critical component of our restoration team, responsible for creating accurate estimates in Xactimate. This position requires a detailed-oriented individual with a basic understanding of commercial and insurance restoration industries. A background in construction, including knowledge of building materials, flooring, and other materials affected by wind, water, fire, smoke, and other property damage causes, is essential for success in this role. Xactimate experience is mandatory, and candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the software during the screening process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and scope jobs onsite, collaborating with Project Managers, Crew Chiefs, and Lead Technicians to determine the scope of work.
  • Document losses with clear and descriptive job photos and upload them into our operating system/software.
  • Write mitigation and reconstruction estimates using Xactimate and other estimating software.
  • Communicate with project teams, clients, and customers through the notes feature in required software.
  • Estimate using carrier audit standards and manage estimates based on feedback from clients and customers.
  • Communicate with project managers and lead technicians to ensure all required documentation is complete.
  • Record drying processes using mobile software.
  • Determine labor and equipment costs.
  • Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing.
  • Communicate with insurance companies and adjusters via phone and email in a timely manner.
  • Manage all estimate documents and assess project risks.
  • Review quotes and estimates with the construction project team.
  • Address estimate exceptions in a timely manner.
