Retirement Plans Specialist

The Retirement Plans Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate administration and compliance reporting of retirement plans. This includes communicating with employees and retirees to facilitate transactions and ensure understanding of plans and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately reconcile biweekly retirement plan contributions from payroll to investment carrier/third party defined contribution record-keeper and notify Finance of funding.
- Determine employee plan eligibility and forward notification to record-keeper.
- Authorize employee defined contribution distributions and facilitate other transactions as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of fourteen retirement plans and ERISA/IRS regulations as they relate to administration and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate with 3rd party vendors, Jefferson Finance, and Internal Audit to file the annual Form 5500, including Schedule A, Schedule B, and Schedule SSA.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required.
- Previous experience in working with defined contribution and/or defined benefit pension plans preferred.
- Previous experience in working with pension vendors, auditors, actuaries, and other external pension contacts.
- Experience in customer service activities as related to pension and tax deferred annuity plans preferred.
