Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support to clinical team members at the Arkansas Heart Hospital Main Clinic in Little Rock, AR. As a Licensed Practical Nurse or Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and comforting environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist clinical team members with patient care and ensure a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Respond to patient needs in a timely manner and transport patients as needed.
  • Welcome patients and ensure admission paperwork is available, actively participating in the admission process.
  • Perform and assist with positioning patients and transferring patients from bed to chair or wheelchair or stretcher.
  • Report abnormal conditions to the RN or physician in a timely manner and identify the organization of the human body, including its systems, structure, and functions.
  • Demonstrate general principles of cleanliness (asepsis) and apply the principle of basic nutrition to patient care.
  • Provide basic emergency care and coordinate the booking and scheduling of patients for procedures/appointments.
  • Serve as liaison with physician/facility, patient, and families regarding patient care and perform other duties as directed by supervisor, based on demonstrated competency.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and maintain universal precautions.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse program or Medical Assistant program required.
  • Current state licensure as a Practical Nurse or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact required for LPNs.
  • Current BLS at time of employment.
  • Minimum of 6 months' continuous LPN or Medical Assistant experience preferred.
