Environmental Safety Specialist

Job Summary

V2X is seeking an Environmental Safety Specialist to serve as a subject matter expert on environmental compliance issues affecting Government facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental regulations and a proven track record of ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or review applicable environmental compliance and management plans
  • Provide technical environmental regulatory assistance and guidance to facilitate environmental compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Conduct environmental compliance inspections/audits/evaluations as directed by the Government to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and Presidential Executive Orders
  • Update and monitor environmental regulatory permits held by the Government
  • Develop and conduct environmental compliance training for Government employees and contractors

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or engineering
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License and ability to obtain an International Driver's License
  • Valid U.S. Passport
  • Licensed and able to drive a manual transmission non-tactical vehicle (SUV, pickup truck/9 passenger van)
  • Pass customer-specific training and certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) desired
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification desired
  • Travel must be worldwide deployable, often to remote, austere permissive and non-permissive environments
  • Clearance must have an current, adjudicated, and active TS/SCI security clearance with Poly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nationally recognized environmental credential desired (Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Professional Engineer (PE), etc.)
  • One (1) year of OCONUS experience with local contractors and labor forces (may be cumulative over several projects/deployments)
  • Six (6) months of experience working in a Government-designated war zone (may be cumulative over several projects/deployments)
  • Microsoft Windows and Office Suite encompassing Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Access, and SharePoint
