About the Role

B&I Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced and dedicated Sheet Metal Supervisor to join our dynamic and expanding team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices engaged in the installation of sheet metal systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the material for and activities of Foremen, Journeymen, and Apprentices engaged in the installation of sheet metal systems.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed for project.
  • Assemble procurement orders for materials, equipment, and tools required at each project commencement.
  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet construction schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
  • Evaluate Foreman and workers' abilities and expertise to ensure the most productive job placement.
  • Study schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of job.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Maintain time records.
  • When necessary, make cost estimates for contracts.
  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals for all assigned workers.
  • Follow HR procedures for hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Understand and apply Lean principles and processes.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of SMACNA, Florida Building, and AHCA codes.
  • Adept working with coordinated shop drawings from BIM as well as remodel projects with only contract drawings.
  • Knowledge of labor tracking.
  • Completion of the apprenticeship program and appropriate Foreman experience preferred.
  • OSHA30, CPR/1st Aid, Qualified Rigging and Signaling, Forklift, Fall Protection, Scissor lift.
  • Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction). Must be able to hear and speak clearly with professional standard grammar.
  • Must use hands, fingers, arms, and legs fully; kneel, crouch, and crawl; climb and balance on ladders and scaffolds; climb stairs, reach overhead; push, pull, lift, and stoop. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
  • Drug test, background check, and a clean driving record are pre-employment requirements.
