Job Summary
SilMan Industries is seeking a highly skilled Permit Technician to join our team. As a Permit Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our building permit process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of local building codes, regulations, and permit requirements to ensure compliance.
• Process and review building permit applications, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate meetings and projects, ensuring seamless communication and execution.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders to foster a culture of cooperation and professionalism.
• Review and distribute building permit applications, ensuring adherence to department procedures and legal requirements.
• Conduct thorough reviews of blueprints, submissions, and plans to ensure compliance with basic code requirements.
• Communicate effectively with engineering, project management, and client contacts to ensure timely and accurate information exchange.
• Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in building codes, regulations, and permit requirements to stay up-to-date on industry developments.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of customer service and/or clerical experience, preferably in building construction or a related field
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner
