Job Overview

Position Title: Finisher/Fabricator

Reports To: Warehouse Manager

Overview: The Finisher/Fabricator is tasked with the grinding and finishing of hollow metal frames and doors, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to blueprints and work instructions to fulfill product specifications and finishing criteria.
  • Prepare frames and doors for finishing processes.
  • Utilize and maintain powered hand grinders for surface preparation and weld finishing.
  • Apply bondo and spray primer to enhance the finish of frames and doors.
  • Perform basic fabrication tasks, including the use of cutoff saws and welding when necessary.
  • Transport materials using appropriate equipment within the work area as required.
  • Mentor less experienced team members in setup and production quality standards.
  • Accurately complete daily production documentation.
  • Report any production or material inconsistencies to management.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety regulations.
  • Inform management of any significant repair needs.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Prior experience in grinding is essential.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this role require regular standing, hand usage, and communication. Frequent reaching, walking, and occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling are also necessary. The ability to lift and/or move up to 85 pounds is required. Specific vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
