Job Overview

Under the guidance of the Pharmacist in Charge, the Pharmacy Technician will support various aspects of pharmacy operations, encompassing prescription processing, sales activities, customer engagement, and inventory oversight.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in the different phases of the prescription fulfillment process, including data entry, production, and sales transactions.
  • Monitor stock levels and aid in the procurement of medications and supplies.
  • Accurately input client and prescription details and manage insurance claims submissions.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of prescriptions.
  • Complete sales transactions while upholding confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Support the shipment or delivery of orders as needed.
  • Engage effectively with clients, prescribers, nurses, and other healthcare providers.
  • Maintain client rights and confidentiality consistently.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and respond to pharmacy-related inquiries both in-person and via phone.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, with maintenance of current certification.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Certification and completion of all required continuing education.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize tasks, maintain attention to detail, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and pharmacy calculations, along with essential critical thinking skills.
  • Capability to manage frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and schedule.
  • Computer skills adequate for performing data entry tasks.
