About the Role

The Assistant Civil/Structural Engineer will be part of a dynamic project team, working under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to deliver world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist project teams in creating designs for various projects, including utility infrastructure, electrical substations, and renewable facilities.
  • Work with the project team to adapt civil structural plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.
  • Design and analyze structures for utility infrastructure, including electrical substations, pipelines, and EV charging stations.
  • Analyze rigid bus systems to assess the structural capacity of insulators and stress and deflection in the aluminum bus.
  • Design oil containment systems for electrical equipment.
  • Modify and review production drawings for various projects.
  • Research and compile project-related data as required.
  • Assist in preparing studies and design reports.
  • Assist in the construction execution, including development of construction specifications and cost estimate preparation.
  • Communicate with design teams for specific project requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Basic knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and civil analysis programs.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Engineers in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
