Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Security Intern to join our team at Briggs & Stratton. As an IT Security Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting the security of our systems and data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support functional staff by performing basic and repetitive assignments, including data analysis and project management.
  • Participate in a variety of assignments in functional areas, such as security incident response and vulnerability management.
  • Perform specific and limited portions of less complex assignments for higher-level staff, including security policy development and implementation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Good working knowledge of computer software and security tools.
  • Candidates should have a long-term interest in IT security and a strong desire to learn and grow in the field.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Possess poise and the ability to interact with people in a professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving, and analysis skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location.

Education and Experience

  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university studying toward a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Must complete the sophomore year in the major program of study prior to beginning a co-op.
  • Must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5/4.0.
  • This is an entry-level position, therefore previous experience is not required.
  • Hands-on work experience in IT security is helpful, but not required.
