Position Overview: We are in search of a highly qualified and driven Controls Engineer to become part of our organization. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in the design, development, and execution of control systems for new installations and projects. Key Responsibilities:

  • PLC Programming: Create, develop, and troubleshoot PLC programs to ensure the effective and dependable functioning of control systems in diverse industrial settings.
  • SCADA & HMI Development: Design and maintain SCADA and HMI systems, particularly focusing on Ignition, to deliver user-friendly interfaces and real-time data visualization for operators and engineers.
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Participate in all stages of the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, commissioning, and project handover.
  • Greenfield Projects: Spearhead the controls engineering initiatives on greenfield projects, including new installations from the ground up.
  • System Integration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to integrate control systems with other engineering disciplines, ensuring seamless operation across all systems.
  • Project Management: Support project management efforts, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and communication with stakeholders.
  • Technical Documentation: Generate comprehensive technical documentation, including system architecture, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.
  • Customer Interaction: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical assistance, and ensure satisfaction with the solutions delivered.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical), Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in controls engineering, emphasizing PLC programming and SCADA/HMI development, particularly with Ignition.
  • Project Experience: Proven experience in participating in the complete project lifecycle, with management experience being a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Significant experience with SCADA systems, especially Ignition.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar software for creating electrical schematics.
  • Project Management: Basic project management skills, including effective time, budget, and resource management.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in controls engineering or project management are advantageous.
