Job Title: School Social Worker

**About the Role**

Mount Prospect Academy is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our academic support staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the emotional and educational well-being of our students.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Collaborate with the Individual Education Plan (IEP) team to develop and implement counseling goals for students, ensuring a comprehensive and tailored approach to their academic and personal growth.
  • Provide clinical support to students, focusing on personal strengths and challenges, and develop adaptive strategies to promote success and resilience.
  • Write and present comprehensive case conceptualizations to faculty, families, and administration, ensuring clear communication and a unified approach to student support.
  • Build positive therapeutic relationships with students and faculty, promoting a trauma-informed approach within the academic setting and fostering a culture of empathy and understanding.
  • Use the Restorative Justice Planning process to support students in taking responsibility and being a positive member of the academic community, promoting social-emotional learning and character development.
  • Develop and maintain individualized plans for each student, providing documentation of student participation and behavior through daily case notes and regular progress updates.
  • Maintain student files within established protocols and policy guidelines, ensuring clarity, continuity, and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate contact between family, school, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to treatment and support, promoting collaboration and communication.
  • Coordinate weekly Treatment Team meetings to monitor student growth and progress, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to student support.
  • Document all collateral contacts, including telephone and email, pertaining to treatment and support, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Oversee biweekly reports and monitor trauma-informed communication between school and external contacts, ensuring a consistent and compassionate approach to student support.
  • Provide individual and group counseling services, with documentation of all treatment provided maintained in case notes and service logs, promoting evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
  • Attend meetings focused on identified students as needed, ensuring a proactive and responsive approach to student support.
  • Develop and maintain community, governmental, and other public and private resources and relationships, promoting partnerships and collaborations that support student well-being and academic success.
  • Facilitate trauma trainings for faculty as part of the yearly academic training calendar, promoting a culture of trauma-informed care and compassion.
  • Support crisis intervention within the academic setting, providing immediate and effective support to students in need.
  • Provide safety assessments for SI/HI behaviors, and consult with other clinicians as necessary, ensuring a comprehensive and proactive approach to student safety and well-being.
  • Maintain student confidentiality and report all pertinent information to academic administrators, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethics.
  • Represent Mount Prospect Academy professionally while collaborating with external stakeholders, promoting a positive and collaborative approach to student support and academic success.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and adherence to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Continuously research current Evidence-Based Practices to support personal, professional, and program development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Maintain a lifelong learning approach to professional development, including a plan for professional licensure and certification, ensuring ongoing growth and expertise.

**Requirements**

  • Master's degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field required.
  • Licensed or in process of being licensed through the NH Department of Education and NH Board of Mental Health Practice.
  • NH DOE Certification in School Social Work.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience counseling adolescents and families.
  • Position requires a criminal history background check.

**Physical Demands & Work Environment**

This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, occasional stooping, bending, and reaching. Ability to occasionally travel and work in noisy and crowded environments. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.
