At Versiti Inc., we are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from donors, interacting with donors and coordinators to provide exceptional customer service, and working cooperatively as a member of the team to achieve our goals.
Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from donors, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Interact with donors and coordinators to provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Work cooperatively as a member of the team to achieve our goals, contributing positively to the achievement of team objectives.
- Perform phlebotomy collections, including preparing collection sites and performing set up, conducting donor screening and mini-physicals, and recognizing and responding to automation reactions.
- Recruit and convert donors for automation, prepare and pack units for transport, and observe donors for reactions, providing reaction care and assisting other staff as needed.
- Rebook donors for future donation appointments, transport staff and equipment, and travel to other local collection sites as determined by business need.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment, including troubleshooting, and maintain product integrity and ensure proper identification of all donors.
- Complete department records and maintain organization, as needed, and participate in validation of new processes or new equipment.
- Review daily work for accuracy and recognize unexpected results, resolving where appropriate, and perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-3 years of relevant people-facing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standardized work routines and methods, general facts and information, and/or the use of simple equipment, machines, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, apply judgment to written or oral instructions, and organize work to provide productive workflow.
- Flexibility to work independently and with a team, strong attention to detail, and good communication skills.
- Ability to learn and utilize computer applications, including Ceridian, Hemasphere, Oracle, and HemaTerra.
