Pharmacy Support Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Children's Pharmacy Team Member at Prisma Health.
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The estimated salary for this position is around $25-$35 per hour, depending on experience and location. As a pharmacy technician, you will work under the direction of a pharmacist to perform various tasks such as preparing medication orders, handling controlled substances, and operating automated dispensing cabinets.
You will also be responsible for contributing to an efficient work environment by answering the telephone in a timely manner, screening and prioritizing calls, and adjusting priorities to accommodate changes in work demands. Additionally, you will participate in training new personnel and mentorship of new pharmacy technicians and interns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Handles all controlled substances in compliance with regulations and policies
- Operates the cash register to accept payments for pharmacy products and services rendered
- Contributes to an efficient work environment
- Participates in ongoing training and education
Requirements:
- Registered with SC Board of Pharmacy
- Pharmacy Tech Certification required within 18 months of hire date
- Thorough knowledge of medical and pharmacy terminology
- Good mathematical, computer, and aseptic technique skills
- Ability to work in team situations and handle urgent, stressful conditions
