Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team at the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists with preparing and arranging dental instruments, equipment, and medication.
- Prepare patients for treatment and examination.
- Perform post-operative cleanup and sterilize instruments.
- Obtain and process dental x-rays and perform basic operating room procedures.
- Mix impression materials and perform accurate measurements.
- Maintain dental records and office records.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.
- Provide patient education and instruction in proper dental hygiene practices.
- Maintain and restock dental supplies and equipment.
- Support front desk staff with patient care responsibilities.
- Schedule patient appointments and verify insurance eligibility.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant Program required.
- Valid certificate of examination for Registered Dental Assistant issued by the California State Board of Dental Examiners required.
- Two years of dental assistant experience required.
- Valid certificate of examination for Coronal Polishing and Radiation Safety issued by the California State Board of Dental Examiners required.
- Valid California Driver's License required.

Preference in hiring is given to the most qualified applicant. However, when candidates for an open position are determined to be equally qualified, Native American candidates will have preference for hiring purposes.
