Job Description

**Computer Science Teacher Position**

We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate Computer Science teacher to join our team at Heritage High School. As a Computer Science teacher, you will be responsible for guiding students in learning computer and information technology, with a focus on high school students and a belief in teaching the whole child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to teach computer science concepts to high school students
  • Coordinate daily video student announcements
  • Potential to develop and teach an E-Sports course
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum

Requirements:

  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, highly preferred
  • Endorsement(s): Business, Industry, and Career Technology Education (NR) or Education Technology (NP)
  • Specific training to teach at the secondary level is preferred
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software
  • Experience in video, TV and film, highly desirable
  • Experience in teaching E-Sports not required but highly desirable

Work Environment:

The Computer Science teacher will work primarily in an indoor environment, with occasional opportunities to work with students in a variety of settings.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (7:20a-3:20p)
  • Approximately 185 workdays (August through May)
  • Salary and benefits are pursuant to collective bargaining agreement with Saginaw Township Education Association (STEA)
  • Current compensation starting at $44,037 Bachelor's Degree (no previous teaching experience); $51,537 Master Degree, (no previous teaching experience)
