Role Summary
As a Global Procurement Category Leader at Johnson Controls International, you will collaborate with various teams to design and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for the Indirect Procurement Facilities and MRO categories. Your role will encompass both conventional and innovative supplier procurement initiatives, ensuring effective execution while focusing on global solutions that enhance service delivery and reduce expenses.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the supplier procurement process and negotiations in alignment with business needs and cost efficiency, optimizing the company's negotiation stance.
- Lead supplier contract negotiations and ensure proper execution, working closely with corporate legal for any necessary escalations regarding risk-related terms.
- Establish and nurture relationships with internal stakeholders to boost engagement and create a strong procurement project pipeline.
- For each procurement initiative, ensure alignment with project goals and foster collaborative efforts with relevant cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Risk Management, HR, Compliance, Legal, Real Estate) to enhance transactional efficiency and mitigate risks.
- Identify and maintain relationships with key suppliers to gain insights into their current offerings and additional capabilities.
- Develop a thorough understanding of business and functional strategic plans and their implications for assigned categories.
- Drive cost reduction targets for the supply management organization and accurately report savings achieved.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise agreements.
- Assist in resolving key supplier issues and mitigating risks as necessary.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of market trends, benchmarks, and industry best practices relevant to assigned categories.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from an accredited institution is required.
- An advanced degree in business, finance, or law is highly desirable.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience is required.
- Proven experience in negotiations is essential.
- Experience in operations and procurement is necessary.
- Prior experience in contract negotiation, implementation, and management is required.
- Extensive project management experience and/or PMP certification is preferred.
- Operational and/or procurement experience in most, if not all, of the assigned Indirect Corporate Services Categories is strongly preferred.
