About the Job

The University of Minnesota seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Director of the Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Global Change (ICGC). As a key member of the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance, the successful candidate will provide strategic direction and leadership to the center, fostering an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural community of faculty and students committed to advancing research, education, and collaborative initiatives related to global change, with a focus on the Global South.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership to campus-wide interdisciplinary research and graduate education center focused on global social justice issues.
  • Direct academic programs, including the intercollegiate Master of Development Practice degree program and the Development Studies and Social Change graduate minor program.
  • Oversee teaching and curriculum development, visiting scholars, and research collaborations with international partners.
  • Lead strategic planning, evaluation, and fundraising efforts to ensure the center's financial sustainability.
  • Represent the ICGC and/or the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance at national and international forums, conferences, and on-campus events.
Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of related experience.
  • Significant academic record of publications, conference presentations, and speaking engagements, as well as academic leadership roles.
  • Experience teaching in a higher education setting and demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary research.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse constituencies and factor a lens of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion into all aspects of the work.
