About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a tenure-track faculty member in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota. The successful candidate will have a strong background in climate change and water resources, with expertise in human health issues related to food safety and security.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the University's mission and to develop a research program that addresses the pressing issues of climate change and food safety. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent and sustainable research program, teach in the classroom, mentor graduate students, and participate in outreach and service.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead research projects that address the intersection of climate change, water resources, and human health
  • Teach courses in environmental health sciences and related fields
  • Mentor graduate students and advise on research projects
  • Participate in outreach and service activities that promote the University's mission and goals
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant field
  • Expertise in climate change, water resources, and human health issues related to food safety and security
  • Strong research and teaching background, with a demonstrated ability to develop and lead research projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in public health surveillance, applied population health science, climate change adaptation, mathematical modeling, and systems research
  • Expertise in food safety economics and social and environmental factors that affect the epidemiology of exposure to foodborne diseases and antimicrobial resistance
