Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with GAAP principles. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and provide technical guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, providing insights and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Analyze financial data to summarize financial status and provide forecasts, supporting business growth and decision-making.
  • Identify and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost management, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant, ensuring seamless collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Review and enhance accounting systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality work.
  • Participate in setting financial standards and assist with the forecast process, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with schedules.
  • Support tax audits and return preparations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Lead internal and external audits to ensure regulatory compliance, maintaining a high level of integrity and transparency.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls, ensuring a secure and compliant financial environment.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles, maintaining a high level of accuracy and transparency in financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and accounting standards.
  • Experience in general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software, such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Relevant certification, such as CMA or CPA, is preferred.
