Position Overview

The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing advanced computer tomography procedures and related techniques, generating sectional and three-dimensional images for diagnostic interpretation, and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Certification Requirements: Team members are required to obtain ARRT (CT) certification within twelve months of employment and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months.
  • CT Procedure Execution: Conduct complex CT examinations utilizing professional judgment to gather and document the patient's clinical history, ensuring all information is accurately recorded.
  • Patient Interaction: Prepare and review the contrast questionnaire with patients or their family members, ensuring thorough understanding and compliance.
  • Contrast Administration: Identify and administer contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners, while verifying the appropriateness of the exam with the radiologist and referring physician.
  • Insurance Coordination: Verify insurance authorization for exams and manage necessary modifications for re-verification.
  • Data Management: Obtain and schedule outside studies in the electronic health record system to ensure availability for radiological comparison.
  • Radiograph Evaluation: Utilize the PACS system to assess radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic quality.
  • Patient Preparation: Ensure patients are adequately prepared for procedures, including the use of shielding and immobilization devices.
  • Monitoring: Observe patients for any adverse reactions during procedures and provide necessary explanations and instructions.
  • On-Call Duties: Participate in on-call assignments as required by departmental policies.
Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning.
  • Familiarity with CT software and hardware mechanics.
  • Proficient understanding of PACS systems.
  • Prior experience in CT imaging is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems is advantageous.
Work Schedule

Flexibility to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, with potential for overtime to ensure high-quality patient care.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull at least 50 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours daily. The role requires sensitivity to the diverse needs of the patient population served.
