About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Marotta Controls, Inc. as a key member of our IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our company's IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement infrastructure solutions, including Windows servers, VMWare, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Implement strategic architectures for the overall IT project portfolio, aligning with business needs.
  • Participate in proof of concepts to define technology direction and enable business strategy.
  • Provide third-level support for high-priority issues, adhering to installation and configuration procedures.
  • Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks, leveraging company resources and providing economies of scale.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Five to seven years' experience implementing infrastructure projects, with Microsoft Server certification.
  • Experience supporting virtual desktop environments, technical solution design, and planning.
  • Basic understanding of the project management life cycle.
  • Well-developed practical operating knowledge of common desktop/laptop hardware and application software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EC2, VPN/VPC management, S3, Storage gateway, Cloud Formation (infrastructure as templates) experience.
  • AWS certification.
  • Information security certification (CISSP, Security+, CySA+).
  • Defense/Aerospace industry understanding/background.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, NIST Cyber Security Framework, and associated controls.
  • Networking concepts, including SD-WAN, AWS Direct Connect, and Cisco Umbrella.
Work Environment

This role interacts in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. The employee is required to use standard office equipment and environments, with occasional overtime and weekend work.

Physical Requirements

The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear, and frequently required to reach and lift with hands and arms. The employee may be required to lift, push, pull, and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
