Position Purpose: Responsible for ensuring that all necessary support services are provided to residents in accordance with agency policies, DDD, and Medicaid requirements. This role oversees the community residence and the staff, providing guidance, counseling, and training to residents with developmental disabilities in acquiring independent living skills within group homes or apartments managed by Our House, Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervisory Duties: Ensure that all direct care staff deliver services aligned with residents' personal goals and behavioral strategies.
- Administer medication to residents in compliance with agency procedures.
- Conduct monthly meetings with pharmacy representatives to oversee medication delivery.
- Oversee and mentor residential staff, conducting orientations, delegating tasks, and evaluating performance.
- Serve as the primary contact for staffing and program issues, ensuring adequate coverage at all times.
- Manage residence operations, including staff schedules, training, documentation, and maintenance of home and vehicle.
- Facilitate training for new employees within two weeks of hire.
- Conduct monthly staff meetings to promote communication and teamwork.
- Maintain safety protocols for the residence, ensuring compliance with emergency procedures and safety standards.
- Coordinate special training to address residents' unique needs.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of residents in the agency's electronic systems.
- Participate in the hiring process and collaborate with Human Resources to ensure staffing needs are met.
- Develop and monitor annual goals for the residence in conjunction with the Area Director.
- Ensure compliance with all mandatory training and employment requirements for staff.
- Engage with licensing inspectors during annual reviews and address any noted deficiencies.
- Manage residents' funds and ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations.
Quality Assurance:
- Report incidents in accordance with agency policies and ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
- Monitor compliance with agency standards and advocate for residents' rights.
- Assist residents in accessing community resources.
Direct Care Responsibilities:
- Transport residents to appointments and activities as needed.
- Support residents in daily living activities and health management.
On-Call Duties:
- Assume responsibility for the residence during unscheduled shifts.
- Respond to communications regarding incidents and staffing issues.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to perform essential functions without posing a threat to others.
- Physical demands include the ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
