Position Title: Retail Sales Associate at Inn of the Mountain Gods

Reports To: Retail Manager

Supervises: N/A

Summary of Position

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for assisting patrons with inquiries regarding merchandise. This role involves executing sales transactions and maintaining product displays in accordance with merchandising standards. The associate will operate the cash register and manage all opening and closing responsibilities for their shift.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and may be adjusted at management's discretion:
  • Inputs merchandise details and pricing into the sales system;
  • Processes transactions and provides receipts to customers for all purchases;
  • Records transaction amounts and prepares shift reports as directed by departmental policies;
  • Verifies cash register totals against cash on hand;
  • Delivers customer service in the retail environment to all patrons consistently. This includes, but is not limited to, providing pricing information and product details upon request;
  • Issues credit notes for returned items;
  • Assists supervisors in maintaining accurate inventory records;
  • Helps in setting up and maintaining store displays;
  • Performs additional duties as required;
  • Complies with all regulatory, departmental, and organizational policies and procedures.

  2. Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; or six months to one year of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience may be considered. Retail experience is preferred.
