- Assist with errands and tasks as requested, adhering to established guidelines.
- Store patient supplies and equipment in accordance with infection control and safety policies.
- Distribute daily supplies to direct caregivers to meet patient needs.
- Answer telephone calls and address requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare patient equipment for transport and escort patients to their destinations.
- Transport equipment and supplies within the patient care unit and other departments as needed.
- Assist with meal tray distribution, setup, and removal to ensure efficiency.
- Make unoccupied beds according to established guidelines.
- Assist patients with operating television, telephone, and other equipment in their rooms.
- Monitor patients at risk for safety issues and take necessary actions.
- Provide room preparation assistance in anticipation of new admissions.
- Complete additional department, organization, or network activities as assigned.
- Successful completion of all competencies required for the Unit Service Aide within 3 months of employment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Effective verbal, electronic, and written communication skills using the English language.
- Computer proficiency, with a preference for Microsoft Office applications.
- Maintain a variable work schedule to meet department needs, including evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and travel.
