About the Role

The Operating Room (OR) Circulator is a vital member of our surgical team, responsible for the direct and indirect provision of patients in the operating room. As an OR Circulator, you'll be accountable for ongoing documentation of all components of medical care delivered to patients within the perioperative and outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the surgery suites by gathering, organizing, and preparing surgical supplies and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Monitor inventory of all surgical supplies and equipment and notify appropriate individuals when supplies are needed
  • Operate medical equipment and perform technical skills according to set policies and standards of care; seek timely assistance as appropriate
  • Restock surgery suites with appropriate supplies when procedures have ended for the day
  • Collaborate with members of the surgical and clinical team in developing coordinated outcomes and interventions regarding patient progress and care
  • Record patient intraoperative information accurately and concisely on each patient's medical chart
  • Ensure the operating rooms are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner at all times
  • Follow established HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience
  • Medical Assistant Certification is preferred
  • Holds and maintains a Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across various audiences
  • Superior listening skills with the ability to quickly comprehend instructions in emergency situations
  • Ability to synthesize patient data and implement an action plan appropriately
  • Excellent manual dexterity
