About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radiology Assistant to join our team at Steward Health Care. As a Radiology Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our imaging department, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing patients for various radiological examinations and tests, ensuring they are properly prepared and comfortable.
  • Under the guidance of a physician or Registered Radiologic Technologist, assist in the preparation of the patient, x-ray room, and supplies.
  • Process films by automatic processing, properly identifying films with patient IDs.
  • Prepare paperwork as necessary, including billing documentation and physician orders.
  • Provide radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards and screen patients for pregnancy.
  • Maintain a clean work area, prepare equipment, patient rooms, and stock supplies.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement projects, as well as cost containment measures.
  • Remain flexible in shift coverage and overtime situations.
  • Check patient appointments and obtain patient reports from Meditech and the Radiology Information System (RIMS).
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience working with patients in a patient care environment.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients under physical and emotional stress.
  • Analytical abilities necessary to acquire and utilize knowledge of fluoroscopy processes and procedures, and general anatomy.
  • Presents a positive attitude and professional appearance.
