Position Overview

Vodastra Technologies is looking for a skilled Cabling Systems Specialist to address and resolve various cable-related challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cabling systems and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to cabling systems, including:
    • Twisted Pair Copper extensions
    • DS3 Coax connections
    • Installation of Cat 5e/6 Structured Cabling Systems in accordance with industry standards such as EIA/TIA, BICSI, and NEC
    • Connecting network hardware and the Internet using laptops
    • Working with DSL modems, routers, NID splitters, and DSL filters
    • Identifying various types of voice and data circuits
    • Installing voice switches and data network hardware
    • Conducting wireless technology surveys (802.11a, b, g, n) without mapping software
    • Performing Wireless Access Point surveys using mapping software (e.g., Air Magnet) and generating coverage mapping reports
    • Managing T1, MPLS, DSL, and DS3 circuits
    • Handling POTS lines and Wireless Access Points with Power over Ethernet installation
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work performed.
  • Exhibit strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and service aids to assess and rectify equipment and system failures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently while also following provided instructions.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities efficiently and work under tight deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor at all times.
