Clinical Staff Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Staff Nurse to join our team at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital. As a Clinical Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient/family-centered care based on the Watson Model of Care.
Responsibilities:- Use the nursing process as a problem-solving model to evaluate and alter the plan of care.
- Prioritize and organize patient care, ensuring follow-through with planned care.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and needs of patients served on the assigned unit.
- Develop and maintain a therapeutic nurse/patient relationship throughout the health care continuum.
- Conduct hourly rounding on patients and perform documentation of patient care, including assessment, interdisciplinary plan of care, implementation, evaluation, and the Watson Model of Care.
- Work with Care Managers during the patient's stay and take a proactive role in coordinating interdisciplinary discharge planning.
- Contact the physician promptly with significant changes in patient's condition and collaborate professionally for required orders and follow-up with revised care.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and document outcomes in the interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Utilize patient classification system according to standards and demonstrate ability to plan, supervise, instruct, and evaluate ancillary nursing personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of one year of clinical nursing experience.
- Minimum of 12 months of Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Basic EKG Competence Certification in Progressive Critical Care Nursing preferred.
- Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
- Basic computer skills.
- Dysrrythmia Course certificate preferred.
- Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card within 90 days of hire or requirement notification.
