Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Research Associate to contribute to the Genomics Medicine Unit at Aequor. This role involves executing in vivo studies aimed at developing cutting-edge gene therapies. The ideal candidate will assist in in vivo experiments that support the advancement of gene therapy and other innovative strategies targeting neurologic, neuromuscular, rare blood, renal, and metabolic disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the execution of rodent pharmacology studies to assess gene therapy candidates.
- Design and conduct research utilizing various laboratory techniques, including administration, behavioral assessments, tissue and blood collection, and assisting with animal imaging.
- Simultaneously manage multiple experiments while adhering to strict timelines.
- Collaborate with fellow scientists to draft, finalize, and implement study protocols, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
- Gather and document data meticulously. Prepare summaries of experimental methods and findings, and present results in team meetings to support the broader objectives of the Genomics Medicine Unit.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in life sciences with 1-3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of experience in the biotech or biopharma sector.
- Experience in designing pharmacological tests using various animal models, focusing on behavioral, biochemical, and physiological outcomes.
- Proven expertise in multiple administration routes for mice and rats, along with a solid understanding of behavioral analysis tools.
- Strong background in rodent tissue collection techniques.
- Demonstrated surgical experience with rodents or a willingness to learn various surgical delivery methods is highly preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively communicate research ideas and collaborate within a team environment.
