Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Support Engineer to join our Office 365 Enterprise Cloud team. As a champion of live-site support and innovator of support solutions, you will help resolve critical problems and create mitigation strategies to ensure the highest quality, security, and reliability of our cloud services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to incidents during on-call rotations, identifying the level of impact, troubleshooting, and implementing fixes to resolve root cause(s).
  • Elevate complex, ambiguous, and impactful issues as needed, contributing to postmortems and sharing details related to incidents and their resolution.
  • Provide expert incident response assistance to other engineers and develop incident response and resolution guidance.
  • Independently implement reliable, scalable, and high-performance solutions across teams, maintaining quality checklists and related documentation.
  • Create, monitor, and take action on telemetry data, influencing analytics to better identify patterns that reveal errors and unexpected problems affecting system availability, reliability, performance, and efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and at least 2 years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • A U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with Polygraph.
  • The ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and at least 5 years of technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • At least 1 year of technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
  • MIS, or other industry-specific engineering certifications.
  • Familiarity with one or more general-purpose programming languages, including Java, C/C++, C#, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell.
  • Experience with the Microsoft cloud and/or stack, including O365, Azure, Windows, or other Microsoft software/services.

Compensation:

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $98,300 - $193,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
