Position Overview

The Infection Preventionist (IP) plays a crucial role in overseeing the Infection Prevention and Control Program (IPCP) within the nursing facility. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities including serving as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator for staff across multiple locations. The focus areas include:

  • Infection Prevention & Control Activities
  • Outcome & Process Surveillance
  • Outbreak Management
  • Employee Health
Key Responsibilities

As an Infection Preventionist, you will:

  • Facilitate new hire orientation by delivering training on infection prevention and control for newly onboarded staff.
  • Design and implement educational programs tailored to address identified infection control needs, utilizing data from QAPI, rounding, and center quality measures.
  • Develop, execute, monitor, and sustain the IPCP to ensure high-quality patient care concerning the investigation, control, and prevention of infections and communicable diseases.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited School of Nursing with active registered nurse licensure.
  • Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control within the first 90 days of employment.
  • A minimum of three years of full-time or equivalent nursing experience.
  • The ability to work flexible hours to accommodate staff on evening and night shifts.

  • Pay Range: $90,000 - $93,600 annually
