Job Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Rate Analyst to contribute to our pricing strategies and product development at Alfa Insurance. This role is essential for ensuring our rates are competitive and align with market standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in establishing rates and pricing frameworks for existing and new insurance products.
  • Monitor and analyze loss data to evaluate profitability and adequacy of reserves.
  • Prepare necessary documentation and exhibits for regulatory rate filings across various jurisdictions.
  • Manage electronic submissions and maintain effective communication with regulatory authorities until approvals are secured.
  • Generate comprehensive reports from Ratabase RIA outputs and conduct detailed analyses.
  • Develop and update algorithms for pricing adjustments and product revisions.
  • Conduct testing to verify the accuracy of rates.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, business, or insurance is required.
  • Experience in the insurance industry with a focus on actuarial or pricing principles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with company policies, underwriting guidelines, and industry practices is advantageous.
  • Willingness to learn and utilize the Ratabase rating engine is essential.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and database management is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
