Position Summary
As a Rate Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in determining and developing competitive rates for our existing and new insurance products. Your analytical skills will be crucial in evaluating loss experiences, conducting profitability studies, and ensuring our pricing structures remain both competitive and sustainable.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in establishing rates and pricing structures for current products while developing rates for new offerings.
- Monitor loss experiences and perform studies to evaluate profitability and adequacy of loss reserves.
- Prepare and manage rate filings across various jurisdictions.
- Handle electronic submissions and maintain communication with regulatory entities until approvals are secured.
- Generate reports from Ratabase RIA outputs and organize data analysis.
- Develop and maintain algorithms for pricing and product revisions.
- Conduct testing to ensure accuracy in rate calculations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, business, or insurance is required.
- Experience in the insurance industry with a focus on actuarial or pricing knowledge is preferred.
- Familiarity with company policies, activities, and underwriting guidelines is advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and utilize the Ratabase rating engine is essential.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets and databases is desirable.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are crucial.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
