Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Cook Children's Health Care System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with patient exams, procedures, and treatments
  • Prepare and maintain patient records, including medical histories and test results
  • Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
  • Conduct vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature checks
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment
  • Assist with laboratory tests and procedures, such as phlebotomy and EKGs
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or current certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in pediatrics or family practice
  • National certification as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • Current CPR certification required
