**Job Summary:**

The Medical Assistant I role functions under the clinical supervision of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider in a primary care practice. This individual assists in the preparation and delivery of patient care as directed by the provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Clinical duties are skillfully and consistently performed per established clinical policy and procedure.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of patient care, including vital signs, medical histories, and medication administration.
  • Perform clinical duties, such as phlebotomy, EKGs, and other diagnostic tests, as directed by licensed clinical personnel.
  • Assist with patient education and communication, including explaining treatment plans and providing instructions on medication use.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and efficient practice operations.

**Requirements:**

  • High school diploma required.
  • Either a graduate of an accredited MA school or a current MA certification.
  • Minimum 1-year experience in outpatient pediatric practice or equivalent family practice outpatient preferred.
  • National certification preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required.
