Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pulmonary Function Technologist to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic pulmonary function procedures, bronchoscopy assist, conscious sedation, setup and interpretation of neo/peds event records, sweat chloride testing, and functioning as a Respiratory Care Practitioner II as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the general supervision of the Manager of Respiratory Care Services, and the direct supervision of the Coordinator of Pulmonary Laboratories, provide diagnostic pulmonary function procedures, bronchoscopy assist, conscious sedation, setup and interpretation of neo/peds event records, sweat chloride testing, and functions as a Respiratory Care Practitioner II as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective respiratory care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory systems and develop plans to improve lung function.
  • Operate and maintain complex respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy devices.
  • Provide education and training to patients and families on respiratory care techniques and disease management.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in respiratory care; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Current IL state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation).
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardio Life Support Certified).
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.
  • Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) required within 6 months of hire.
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) required within 18 months of hire.
