Job Summary

The Part Time Staff position at Kilgore College is a dynamic role that requires a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual to assist the Bookstore Manager in various duties. As a Part Time Staff member, you will be responsible for performing a range of tasks related to cash sales, credit card purchases, reordering, invoicing, stocking, and pricing of merchandise in the bookstore.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a cashier and handle cash transactions
  • Coordinate and oversee the selection of merchandise, including vendor and product selection
  • Coordinate the return of damaged merchandise to vendors
  • Purchase goods for resale and initiate purchase orders
  • Determine the quality and quantity of product purchased and monitor receiving, invoicing, and transferring of product
  • Verify student financial aid and charge books and supplies to financial aid
  • Implement and maintain inventory and maintain and stock vending machines
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, including dusting and vacuuming
  • Assist the KC Bookstore Manager with various tasks and duties as assigned
Requirements
  • High school credential and either one year of college or retail or related customer service experience
  • Good verbal communication skills and general skills in keyboarding and computer usage
  • Be well organized and thorough, able to work well with little supervision, and deal professionally and courteously with a diverse student and employee population
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds on a routine basis
