Description

The University of Central Oklahoma is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English with a specialization in Professional/Technical Writing and expertise in Composition and Rhetoric/Writing Studies. The Department of English is committed to recruiting and maintaining a diverse faculty and to creating a welcoming environment for all.

Position Overview

Teach four courses (twelve hours) per semester, including first-year composition, technical and professional writing, and upper-division and cross-listed undergraduate-/master's-level courses, as well as graduate-only seminars, in areas including but not limited to language, rhetoric, and writing, as well as other courses that complement instructor expertise and departmental need. Direct and serve on M.A. thesis committees; engage in service at the department, college, and university levels; and maintain an active program of research, scholarly, and/or creative activity.

Required Qualifications

A Ph.D. in English (or a directly related adjacent field) and a commitment to high-quality teaching are required. Preference will be given to applicants who have at least two years of experience teaching in a college or university setting.
