Are you prepared to apply your engineering expertise to impactful projects? We are seeking a motivated Transportation Infrastructure Engineer to enhance construction and maintenance initiatives throughout Pennsylvania's roadway system, aiming to mitigate risks and boost operational efficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary duty will involve assessing design specifications for the placement of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) equipment, which includes conducting line-of-sight evaluations and determining optimal device locations.
Additional responsibilities will encompass collecting and analyzing data related to roadway design, operational effectiveness, and environmental considerations to propose methods for improving highway safety and traffic management, with a particular emphasis on traffic control mechanisms.
Field evaluations and testing of traffic signal setups, along with the assessment of traffic management in construction zones and incidents, will also be part of your responsibilities. Engaging with various stakeholders through multiple communication channels is essential.
Furthermore, collaborating closely with local governments is critical to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania's regulations and policies.Utilizing diverse software applications for data management and analysis, as well as compiling reports using standard traffic engineering documentation, will be integral to your role.

WORK SCHEDULE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This is a full-time position with working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, including a 30-minute lunch break.
TELEWORK OPTIONS:
There may be opportunities for part-time telework, subject to supervisor approval.
To be eligible for telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location within Pennsylvania.
If teleworking is not feasible, you will have the option to report to the designated headquarters office.SALARY:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Five years of relevant civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, along with an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists; or successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee program; or four years of relevant civil engineering experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a related field; or one year of relevant civil engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
The residency requirement for Pennsylvania is currently waived for this position.
