Marketing Coordinator Job Description

Empire Distributors Inc, a leading beverage distributor, is seeking a skilled Marketing Coordinator to join their team. As a Marketing Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in planning and managing events, working with external vendors, and negotiating pricing and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning and Management: Plan and manage all events, including consumer tasting events, charity/fundraising events, internal meetings and gatherings, trade shows, etc.
  • Vendor Management: Work with external vendors to secure all needs, venues, etc.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate pricing, review contracts, and submit invoices.
  • Supply Chain Management: Pull products from warehouse, order supplies as needed.
  • Marketing Tool Management: Work with suppliers to secure marketing tools, collateral, etc.
  • Event Execution: Set-up, attend, and break-down events (some evening and weekend work will be necessary).
  • Pre-Event Planning: Prepare pre-event checklists, run-of-show, and recaps.
  • Event Calendar Management: Manage event calendar.
  • Account Rep Support: Work closely and effectively with account reps to ensure positive supplier, customer, and consumer experiences.
  • Digital Marketing Support: Provide support with social media content and other digital marketing opportunities.
  • Team Support: Support Marketing Managers and Corporate Marketing Director as needed.
  • Sell-in Pitch Support: Support team with content for sell-in pitches/presentations.
  • Sales Meeting Attendance: Attend sales meetings to familiarize yourself with new and current suppliers and their marketing campaigns and tools.
  • Database Management: Manage multiple databases (event, supplier, customer, ratings, press, etc.).
  • Newsletter Preparation: Prepare assorted monthly newsletters for distribution to sales, suppliers, and/or customers.
  • Marketing Roadmap Meetings: Lead Marketing Roadmap Meetings 1x month.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Event Planning Experience: Experience in event planning and management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the retail and/or hospitality industry, proven problem-solving and team building skills.
  • Communication Skills: Able to work with colleagues at all levels to develop marketing goals and evaluate results.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Good at problem-solving and communication.
  • Writing and Editing Skills: Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Time Management Skills: Must be an active listener, detail oriented, multi-tasker, and organized.
  • Leadership Skills: Must have strong time management skills and be able to hit multiple deadlines at the same time.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to articulate business goals of non-creative partners into creative execution.
  • Team Player: Team player: enjoys working with others and collaborating with a positive attitude.
  • Feedback Handling: Handles feedback and redirection well.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications.
  • Experience: 3-5 years experience in digital marketing.
  • Software Skills: Skilled at Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the food and beverage, retail, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred but not required.
