Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Restorative Specialist who will utilize restorative practices to engage with students, fostering their personal growth and collaboratively addressing their challenges.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $37,800 - $51,450, based on educational background and relevant experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred;
  • Proven experience working effectively with at-risk youth;
  • Background in restorative practices with students facing emotional and behavioral challenges;
  • Comfortable with digital communication and proficient in a Google/Mac environment;
  • High School Diploma with some college coursework; and
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with youth in the District of Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fostering a supportive and professional environment that respects both students and staff;
  • De-escalating situations involving students in crisis;
  • Investigating and addressing student concerns;
  • Establishing and upholding student expectations regarding technology use;
  • Collaborating closely with the administrative team to ensure student accountability;
  • Maintaining open lines of communication with students, educators, and families;
  • Assisting the Dean of Students with behavior tracking, attendance, and various duties throughout the school day;
  • Communicating professionally with parents, students, and staff in Spanish, French, or Chinese, in addition to English;
  • Promoting cultural engagement through leading and participating in activities that celebrate French, Spanish, and Chinese cultures;
  • Committing to environmentally sustainable practices;
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
