Front Desk Receptionist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta. As a key member of our front desk team, you will provide exceptional customer service to our staff, members, and visitors, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet visitors and assist with contact persons or meeting room reservations
  • Screen and direct all calls to the appropriate contact, including members, potential members, customers, clients, and employees
  • Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
  • Manage room reservations and cleanliness, as well as parking validations and sign-in
  • Maintain the Break Room, including the coffee machine and supplies
  • Respond to emergency situations in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
  • Maintain daily logs, records, and forms, including staff attendance sheets
  • Answer telephone calls, record messages, and direct calls to the appropriate personnel
  • Record sign-in/sign-out log sheets for tracking purposes
  • Receive and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Ensure timely delivery of mail to the appropriate personnel
  • Order and maintain inventory of office and kitchen supplies
  • Prepare agendas, information packets, and other materials as needed
  • Assist with meetings and workshops, including preparing materials and making conference room reservations
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of business experience in an office setting
  • Working knowledge of computers, including MS Word, MS Excel, and database management
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and problem-solve
  • Strong customer service skills and personal commitment to service and hospitality
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Strong keyboard skills
  • CPR certification within 30 days of employment and maintenance throughout employment
Preferred Requirements:
  • Associate degree in business or a related field
  • Experience with an Avaya phone system
  • Bilingual language fluency
  • Ergonomics

This position works under usual office conditions, requiring the ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods. The employee must be able to handle, use fingers, grasp, and lift objects and packages, as well as reach with hands and arms. The incumbent must be able to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions. Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
